Fast track in Global Law

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences, sociology or business? Or perhaps in art history or international business? Then this is the time to increase your value in the job market by adding a different field of study. Get a law degree in just two years’ time by following our Global Law fast track.

Strong position in the job market

Why add a law degree? With Global Law, you will learn about the different legal systems in the world. The program will prepare you for leading positions in international companies and organizations. Combine these elements with your existing degree, and you have a set of skills that is unique in the job market.

When you work in the legal department of a multinational, for example, it is essential that you know more than just the law. You will have knowledge that other lawyers are lacking. You can also bring legal knowledge to the table in your job as an art consultant or fundraiser for a non-governmental organization. The possibilities are endless.

If you aspire to become a lawyer in the traditional sense, such as an attorney, a barrister or a judge, it is necessary to have specific knowledge about one legal system. Needless to say, Global Law students do not specialize in one single legal system. For this reason, we have created several options for you to become further qualified in either the Dutch legal system or that of England and Wales.

Complete Global Law in just two years

About 60 ECTS of the Global Law program is interdisciplinary. If you are accepted for the fast track, we will allow you to skip a number of these interdisciplinary courses. Because the total value of courses you will skip is 60 ECTS, you can complete the bachelor in two years. Having obtained your Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, you can pursue a Master of Laws (LLM) degree, something that is not possible with a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Fast track: application process

If you wish to study Global Law as a graduate entrant, you must apply the same way all other candidates do: via our online system and by uploading certain documents to support your application. Your documents will be reviewed by our Global Law advisory committee. Based on their evaluation, you may be granted permission to proceed with the Global Law fast track. Alternatively you may be offered a place in the first year of Global Law.
