How did you reach the decision to study (your study program)?

I always knew I wanted to study something related to international affairs, societal challenges or politics. I was considering the standard “International Relations“ or “Political Science“ degrees but chose Global Management of Social Issues due to its immense international outlook, uniqueness and novelty in terms of subjects and courses but also the fact that it gives you so many different opportunities for the future – ranging from project management, through HR or international relations.

What is your favorite subject?

The program is so diverse and unique that I think everyone will find something for themselves. I personally really enjoyed International Law, Wicked Problems and the International Organizations courses. They were always very practical and hands on, where we not only explored societal challenges in theory but put our knowledge into practice through multiple simulations, debates and projects.

Would you recommend studying abroad to a student who might never have thought about it before?

Definitely! It is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people from all around the world. Not only do you make friendships that last a lifetime, there is a great sense of community and belonging in GMSI. This is primarily because we all come from very different corners of the world, all with different experiences that when put together form one big family.
