Theology careers and subsequent Master's programs
When you have finished your Bachelor's in Theology, you will be equipped with a broad range of knowledge and skills and you are an expert in existential questions and in cultural and religious diversity. You can work for example as a consultant in politics, media or business. You can also continue your studies with one of the Master’s programs offered by the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology.
Possible jobs Theology
Most students choose to do a Master's program after obtaining their Bachelor's degree. After completing a Master's program, you'll have favorable career prospects with Theology. You could find work at universities, schools, organizations and penitentiary institutes.
What can you do with a Theology degree?

Theologians often work in pastoral ministry in a parish. You could get a position in chaplaincy/spiritual care in a healthcare facility, in the army or in prison. You could also work as a policy maker in the nonprofit sector, such as in the welfare work or in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
- You can choose to become a Phd student or a teacher. Other professions in education such as identity counsellor in primary and secondary education or academic staff at a university are also possible.
Graduates found work at the Ministry of Justice and Security, Cordaid and Stanislas college.
Subsequent Master's programs Theology
After getting your Bachelor's degree, you could start looking for a job, but you will significantly improve your chances by doing a Master's program. With Theology, you have a wide range of Tilburg University Master's programs to choose from. Some Master's programs require you to take certain courses during your Bachelor's program in order to be admitted. Make sure to check the application and admission page of the Master's program of your choice. Christianity and Society
Reflect critically on Christianity in the public space and the tensions that arise in the dialogue with modern society and world religions. The program links theological and religious sources of the past with current social, economic and political issues. Special attention is given to Catholic Social Thought, which deals with issues such as the relation between religion and state, and the contribution of capitalism to justice and happiness.

Academic Teacher Training Religion and Philosophy (in Dutch)
Become a professional Religion and Philosophy teacher. Immerse yourself in youth culture in relation to world religions and become a didactic expert in the field of philosophical questions and themes which play an important role in young people’s lives. You follow your lectures at our location in Utrecht. This master is also available in part-time.

Theology (in Dutch)
Following the professional master’s program in Theology you will be trained as a spiritual caretaker in a parish or in a care institution, in the prison system or in the army. Immerse yourself in various theological and related academic disciplines such as philosophy and social sciences. You will take professional courses, do an internship and complete your studies with a master's thesis.
