Dutch (Nt2) - Intensive Course for the Dutch State Exam

Our intensive course for the Nt2 State Exam consists of three consecutive courses in one year: a course for Beginners, Intermediate level students, and Upper-intermediate level students. These courses prepare you for the Nt2 State Exam, program II within a year.

What do we expect from you?

Our intensive language courses leading to the Nt2 State Exam are geared to a highly-educated target group. We work at an accelerated pace and expect a great deal of individual work from our students. It is also important that you are proficient in English and that your computer skills are up-to-date. You should also take into account that the course has a study load of 20 to 40 hours per week.

What can you expect from us?

You will be part of a fixed group of students with a maximum of 18 students per class. Our lecturers have a university degree. They will help you look at your own learning process and provide tips and ideas to guide this process. Our classrooms are also optimally equipped for innovative language education. Every room is equipped with an interactive whiteboard to provide interactive language education. In each course, one of our lecturers will function as your mentor. He or she will supervise your learning process and - if applicable - your process toward the integration process.

Civic Integration

Are you obliged to participate in a civic integration program and do you want to take the Nt2 State Exam, program II? Then you are more than welcome to join us. We have been awarded the Keurmerk Blik op Werk quality mark, which means that you can pay for our intensive courses with a DUO loan. In case you started your integration after January 1st 2022, you will enter the course through your municipality. You will be enrolled in Tilburg University’s Language and Preporatory Program.

Would you like to prepare for studying in the Netherlands? Then you can follow the intensive course up to and including the Nt2 Intermediate course (level B1). After that, you can enroll in the academic pre-Bachelor's program, which will prepare you for a study program at a Dutch university within one year. These two programs are combined in the Tilburg University Language and Preporatory Program.

Registration and mandatory intake

If you want to follow a course, please first fill out the registration form. In this form, please state your details and choose the method of payment. Occasionally, you will be asked to send extra documents, for example, if you pay the course with a DUO loan. When all your details are complete, we will invite you for an intake. The intake consists of 1) a test and 2) an interview. This will determine whether the course is suitable for you.  You will be invited to take a test on campus first. In the same week, a lecturer from the Language Center will conduct an intake interview with you. This interview is online (via ZOOM) and can, therefore, take place on a different day than the test. During the interview, which will be conducted either in Dutch or in English, you will hear whether you can definitively start the intensive course and at what level.
