Dutch I for Expats
This is an evening course geared toward university-educated professionals who primarily work or study in an English-speaking environment, but would like to learn Dutch for day-to-day survival skills. This course teaches you basic Dutch grammar and you acquire vocabulary that is geared toward practical situations.
During the lessons, many dialogues and roleplays are used. You can prepare and review the lessons using the online material. You will also receive weekly writing exercises that you must rewrite yourself based on feedback from your instructor. The cultural subjects dealt with are primarily geared toward day-to-day life, such as Dutch names, food and drinks and the Dutch way of making appointments.
At the end of the course you will be able to
- talk about your family
- make an appointment
- order in a café or restaurant
- talk about living space

This course is intended for everyone who is highly educated. This means that you have a diploma at HAVO or VWO level and are therefore eligible to attend Higher Education in the Netherlands.
