English Masterclass Speaking

If you need to speak English at a relatively high level (C1 or higher), you can choose this small-scale English Masterclass Speaking to improve your fluency, vocabulary and other aspects of speaking.

In the English Masterclass Speaking, you meet once a week in a small group together with an English language teacher. The course is intended for staff with a relatively high level of English. The focus is predominantly on speaking skills (fluency and vocabulary) through the use of a range of interesting and challenging speaking activities. There is also the opportunity to work on pronunciation and grammar depending on the needs of course participants. Because the groups are quite small, the course can be adapted to the needs and requests of the participants.

Upon completion of the course, you can receive a microcredential.

Target group

This course is meant for staff members who are at a low C1 level of English or higher. This means both academic and support staff. You choose this course if you want go practice your English regularly and get tips on how to improve your speaking in general.

Your current speaking level was assessed during the English Language Assessment, which you can find in your employee portal. If you are unsure of your level or whether this course is suitable for you, you can also contact the coordinator for the English department to schedule a quick interview.

At the end of the course you can

speak English more fluently;
speak English with more confidence;
independently expand your vocabulary;
pick up on grammatical mistakes and self-correct better;
speak with less of an accent.

This course is taught on campus.
80% attendance is required. Lessons are not recorded for later viewing.
The language of instruction in the course is English.
The Language Center reserves the right to cancel the course should enrollment numbers prove to be insufficient.
