Dutch I for Asian Students

In this course, you will learn basic Dutch grammar and acquire vocabulary that is geared toward practical situations. The difference between this course and the course 'Dutch I for International Students' is that this course pays extra attention to listening comprehension (what exactly is being said) and pronunciation.

During the lessons, many dialogues and roleplays are used. You can prepare and review the lessons using the online material. You will also have weekly written exercises that you must rewrite yourself based on feedback from your instructor.

A great deal of information about Dutch culture will be discussed, such as family relations and public transport.

At the end of the course you will be able to do the following in Dutch:

  • talk about yourself, your hobbies, and your family;
  • make an appointment;
  • do the grocery shopping;
  • order in a café or restaurant;
  • talk about what you do every day.

Final exam

The course is completed with an oral exam (3 speaking assignments) and a written exam.

Target group
