Spanish - Intermediate

This blended course is the continuation of Spanish for beginners and provides depth. All skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) are covered in roughly equal measure, but the emphasis is on oral communication. Typical of the course is the structural use of multimedia, group assignments, and games.

Through both individual tasks and group assignments you will expand your knowledge of Spanish. In preparation for class, you watch videos that help you expand your vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. In class, there is plenty of room for interaction with other students and applying what you have learned. Cultural topics are also covered during the lessons.

By the end of the course, you will have reached level B1 of the European Reference Framework. You will then be able to:

  • describe experiences or events (that have happened to you in the past);
  • exchange dreams and ambitions and make predictions for the future;
  • give and receive instructions and advice;
  • express opinions on various topics such as the environment and politics and argue them;
  • make complaints and claims and propose solutions (about social problems and life in a city);
  • - express the emotions and feelings that other people's behavior evokes in you;
  • describe objects by, for example, talking about their usefulness, their uses, and their components and materials;
  • understand the differences and similarities between your own culture and those of Spanish-speaking countries and make them comprehensible to others to facilitate communication.
  • participate in the DELE exam for level B1;
  • advance to Spanish Advanced and Spanish Speaking Fluently Speaking when you have achieved a B1 level.
  • advance to the courses Spanish Upper-Intermediate and Speaking Fluent Spanish if you have reached B1.

If you do not know what level you can sign up for, you can make a level test to get an indication of your language level.
