Learning a Language at the Language Center
Tilburg University is an internationally oriented research and education institute. The Language Center assists students, university staff, and non-university students in improving their language proficiency.
Are you highly educated and do you want to improve your Dutch or learn Dutch as a 2nd language (NT2)? Then you can choose from a wide range of courses. If you want to learn a foreign language, you are also at the right address at the Language Center.

Learn a foreign Language for free with your language vouchers
Tilburg University offers its students the opportunity to follow free language courses. Are you enrolled at Tilburg University and paying tuition fees here? If so, you will have received twelve digital language vouchers at the start of your studies. Exchange students and Pre-Master's students also receive these twelve language vouchers.

NT2: Beginners (intensive course)
This course allows you to rapidly acquire a solid basis of everyday Dutch based on texts from the Delft method that you will go through step-by-step. Grammar is also explained based on these texts. This allows you to develop a feel for the language instead of only knowledge of the grammar rules.

Dutch (NT2) - Intensive Course for the Dutch State Exam
Our intensive course for the NT2 State Exam consists of three consecutive courses in one year: a course for beginners, intermediate level students, and advanced level students. These courses prepare you for the NT2 State Exam, program II within a year.

NT2: Intermediate (intensive course)
During this intensive course, you continue to develop your general proficiency in Dutch. You expand your vocabulary (to approximately 4300 words) and your knowledge of grammar. In preparation of the lessons, you study one or two texts that cover all aspects of living in the Netherlands. In this way, you practice vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, and grammar.

NT2: Upper-Intermediate Dutch (intensive course)
During this course, you work from the B1 level to the B2 level. Using the book Nederlands op Niveau, you will work with texts, listening fragments, and do vocabulary and grammar exercises.

Dutch I for International Students
In this course, you will learn basic Dutch grammar and acquire vocabulary that is geared toward practical situations. During the lessons, many dialogues and role plays are used.
