PhD program

At the CentER Graduate School of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management, you can enter into the Research Master program and subsequently pursue a PhD degree. The PhD program takes three years in which you write a PhD dissertation. Obtaining the doctorate is essential if you plan to work at a university, but a PhD in mathematical economics or econometrics is also appreciated by research institutes of private and public companies, banks, or consultancy firms.

Stay in the Netherlands after graduation

After obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the Netherlands, non-European students can apply for a residence permit under the ‘Orientation Year for Graduates Seeking Employment’ scheme. This allows you to spend a period of up to twelve months in the Netherlands to find employment.
