Study pressing public policy issues, ranging from reducing income inequality to the provision of affordable health care. Upon graduation, you are an economic expert on how governments can achieve such critical goals, design effective solutions, and finance these activities. This is a track of MSc Economics.

Program and courses

Learn how public policies and tax schemes can be designed to create the right incentives and nudges to bring important societal goals within reach.

  • Experience what it means to be a policy advisor in national governments and international organizations.
  • Study with fellow international students of many different nationalities.
  • This is a track of MSc Economics. You can choose to follow the main program or one of the tracks.

Career prospects

Upon graduating you will have obtained the following title (as stated on your diploma): Master of Science.
With a specialization in Public Policy, you can apply economic theories and models to important domestic policy issues; advising governments on how to achieve, design and finance these goals. These skills are perfect for a career as policy advisor in national governments or international organizations such as the EU; researcher in applied research institutes, or consultant within nationally or internationally oriented consultancy firms.

Pre-Master’s program:

Open to Research University students, not to students from a Dutch University of Applied Sciences (HBO).
