Date: Location: Tilburg

You want to become a Registered Accountant (RA) and you are looking for a solid Accountancy program at a renowned university. A program that covers the latest developments in the field and has lecturers with cutting-edge knowledge from practice and theory. An environment in which you build a network of talented young professionals that offer insights from their own international experiences. A post-Master’s program that allows you to combine work and study, with classes on Fridays, and that provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to take the next step in your career.

This is why you choose the post-Master Accountancy in English at Tilburg University

  • A 2,5-year English taught program in the Netherlands that starts in March of each year, with classes on Fridays.
  • The post-Master's program offers an innovative curriculum. A thorough program that provides a solid base for life-long learning as an accountant.
  • High-quality faculty that mainly consists of professors and experienced practitioners. They combine their personal experience in the field with a passion for education. A combination that translates into interesting and relevant classes.
  • A program with ample attention to large recurring themes on top of the three core courses (Financial Reporting & Financial Reporting Law, Auditing & Assurance, and Internal Control & Accounting Information Systems), including: ethics, data analysis and sustainability.
  • Society is changing and with it the work of financial auditors. We therefore discuss special topics such as internal and operational auditing, governmental accounting, and the accountant as a financial professional.
  • Theory and practice are well-integrated. For example, you can complete your internal control case as part of the post-Master’s program. This saves you time and expenses because the case also counts for the practical part of the RA program and is included in the tuition fee of the post-Master at Tilburg University.
  • The program is small-scale and interactive. You will know your fellow students and teachers well, and there is ample opportunity for personal guidance.
  • It is a great contribution to your network. Since you experience the classes together with your peers, you will enrich your network and your learning experience.
  • You receive on-the-go training in English business language.

These are only mandatory for students who do not have the required previously acquired competencies in these fields. For students who do have previously acquired competencies in these fields we will evaluate what parts of the deficiency courses are already covered by their prior education and what parts are not. We will then design a tailor-made deficiency program for these students.

Classes start in March and will take place every Friday at Tilburg University.

Theory and practice

During your studies, you do a three-year traineeship in an audit firm. This traineeship includes some formal coursework, half yearly trainee reports, a term paper in which you describe a dilemma that you encountered in practice, an internal control case from your own practice, and a final integrated oral exam. After successfully finishing the traineeship and the post-Master Accountancy, you become listed in the charter of the NBA, and are allowed to bear the title Registered Accountant (RA).
