PhD program

At the CentER Graduate School of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management, you can enter into the Research Master program and subsequently pursue a PhD degree. As a QFAS graduate you may enter into the second year of the RM program. The PhD program takes three years in which you write a PhD dissertation. Obtaining the doctorate is essential if you plan to work at a university, but a PhD in quantitative finance is also appreciated within the finance and insurance industry.

Executive Master of Actuarial Science (EMAS)

When you work in the insurance/pensions sector and you want to extend your knowledge of Actuarial Science, you can apply for admission to the Executive Master of Actuarial Science (EMAS) program at TIAS Business School. This part-time program provides all material needed for the title of fully qualified actuary (Actuaris AG). As a QFAS graduate, you have direct access to the program, after possibly taking a small package of preliminary courses depending on electives you have chosen during prior education.

No work permit needed in first year for non-EU graduates

After obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the Netherlands, non-European students can apply for a residence permit under the ‘Orientation Year for Graduates Seeking Employment’ scheme. This allows you to spend a period of up to twelve months in the Netherlands to find employment.
