Short overview of the Research Master in Economics

Two years of graduate level coursework and research training, to optimally prepare you for a PhD in Economics:

  • First year: training in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics to get a sound foundation in economic and econometric theory and methods and their applications.
  • Second year: specialized field courses, writing a short field paper, and, finally, writing a Research Master’s thesis that will be the basis for your first major research paper.
  • PhD: spend the following three years completing a dissertation under the supervision of two faculty members.
