CentER conducts fundamental research in the field of economics and business management, and strives to create optimal conditions for the research and investigation of important issues in these areas.

Excellent, world-class research facilities are in place for our researchers, Research Master's and PhD students:


About 200 seminars and 30 informal workshops a year

CentER has seven seminar series, providing frequent opportunities for visiting researchers, Research Master's and PhD students, and CentER faculty members to discuss current research and ongoing projects. Each year about 200 seminars and 30 informal workshops are organized. Every week on Thursday the Graduate Students’ Society organizes a special seminar for the Research Master’s students to present and discuss their research papers.

CentERlab provides excellent facilities to conduct experiments

CentERlab is CentER's facility for conducting economic and business experiments. It consists of a dedicated computerized laboratory, containing 24 partitioned workstations (the A-Lab) and 10 individual cubicles (the B-Lab).

CentERdata expertise on data collection and innovative research

CentERdata is the institute for data collection and research that is affiliated with our School. They conduct panel surveys through a tele panel of around 2000 households in the Netherlands. It is an eminent party in survey, policy and consumer research and an expert in the field of customized software development for complex domestic and international projects in which innovation plays a key role.

Work on your projects in the Research Master's students' room

All Research Master’s students in our Economics or Business program can make use of the Research Master’s students room to work on their research projects, prepare classes and write papers.

  • The room is equipped with computers with relevant statistical programs (e.g. STATA, Matlab, SPSS), laptop work stations, printing facilities and a white board.
  • Lockers are available to store valuable items and a small kitchen provides coffee/tea facilities.

Our university provides access to a very extensive set of databases for information, articles and research data.

State-of-the-art library

The university has a state-of-the-art library with over 800,000 books, journals, illustrations, early works and manuscripts. The combination with a voluminous collection of e-books and e-journals provides a treasure of scholarly information. The library also houses computer work places, break-out rooms and individual study places.
