TSB Scholarships

2017/2018

For the academic year 2017-2018 Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences has a number of scholarships available for excellent non-EEA students:

TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence (*)

(*) note: only available for 2017-2018; not available for 2018-2019 or after

For whom?

For excellent non-EEA students who are admitted to one of the following Master's program at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (TSB):

To qualify for a TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence, you must fulfill the following admission requirements, in addition to the regular requirements for admission to a Master's program:

  • Candidates must have been (unconditionally) admitted to one of the graduate programs (above listed) at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences for the academic year 2017-2018.
  • Candidates must have achieved excellent study results in their relevant (under) graduate program. As an indication, the student must have graduated with an average result of at least 8 (out of 10) or must be among the top 10% of their class.
  • Candidates must be newly enrolled at Tilburg University.

Selection criteria

On the basis of the following selection criteria, the selection committee will select the recipients of the TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence:

  • The academic results in the relevant (under)graduate program.
  • The quality and content of the Scholarship Application Form.
  • The language test score.
  • Extracurricular activities.

Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences strives for a balanced participation in terms of nationality.

Amount

The TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence consists of a scholarship of the following:

  • Contribution to living expenses of €5,000
  • partial tuition fee waiver of €9,000.

Please note: the tuition fees for 2017-2018 will therefore be €5,500 for TSB Master Scholarship recipients.

Duration

TSB Master Scholarships for Academic Excellence will only be awarded for the academic year 2017-2018.  

Application procedure

To apply for a TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence you must:

  1. Download the Scholarship Application Form.
  2. Upload the Scholarship Application Form in our Online Application System MYSAS, together with your application for the Master's program before the Scholarship deadline of 1 April 2017.
  3. You can send us a statement from your university confirming that you belonged to the top 10% of your class and/or confirming your average grade. This is not necessary if your average grade is specified on your transcript of records.

What happens next?

All applicants for the TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence will be informed about the outcome of the Scholarship Selection Committee by early May 2017.

  • Students who are awarded a TSB Master Scholarship for Academic Excellence must comply with and confirm in writing their agreement to the terms and conditions of the Scholarship.
  • Please note that the Scholarship Selection Committee usually receives more applications than it has grants, which means they can only select a minority of excellent applicants who will receive financial support. Strong candidates, who do not make it to the first group of Scholarship candidates, will be put on a list of standby candidates. The School will notify these students as soon as possible - but not later than 1 July 2017 - in case a Scholarship candidate withdraws his application.

TSB Research Master Scholarship

For whom?

The TSB Research Master Scholarship consists of a tuition fee waiver for all non-EEA students admitted to one of the Research Master's program at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (TSB):

For the academic year 2017/2018, non-EEA students pay a tuition fee of € 2,006 (instead of the normal tuition fee of € 14,500), i.e., the same value as EEA-students (statutory fee).

Amount

For the academic year 2017/2018, non-EEA students will receive a tuition fee waiver of €12,494. Please note: the tuition fees for 2017-2018 will therefore be €2,006 for TSB Research Master Scholarship recipients.

Duration

The TSB Research Master Scholarship are awarded for the two academic years; award for the second year of the Research Master’s program will depend on your study results at the end of the first year.

Application procedure

Students do not need to apply for this scholarship. All admitted non-EEA nationals will receive this tuition fee waiver. However, you will receive confirmation regarding this Scholarship award after your admission.

TSB Global Partner Scholarship

The TSB Global Partner Scholarship consists of a tuition fee waiver of 25% for non-EEA nationals who will graduate (or have already graduated) from one of our partner universities listed below and who are admitted to one of the Master’s programs listed below:

For the academic year 2017/2018, graduates from these listed universities pay a tuition fee of € 10,875 (instead of the normal tuition fee of € 14,500).

Students do not need to apply for this scholarship.  All admitted non-EEA graduates from the listed universities will receive this tuition fee waiver.  You will, however, receive separate notification about the Scholarship award after you have been admitted.
