Cyber Security for Corporates - Prof. Lokke Moerel

With Internet not being inhibited by national borders, cyber security is a hot topic for organizations worldwide. During this session, Professor Lokke Moerel, who teaches Global ICT Law at Tilburg University, will update you on the importance and necessity of cyber security for modern organizations. Decision-making under uncertainty - Prof. Kuno Huisman

Location: ASML's Experience Center, Veldhoven

Decision-making is often done under time pressure and with limited research into possible alternatives. This expert workshop gives you an introduction into the decision quality concept, which was originally developed at Stanford University. This concept has proven to be key for staff at ASML to successfully execute their company’s strategy. Prof. Kuno Huisman, Director and Head of Decision Support at ASML, will give hands-on practice in the effective framing of a decision and the generation of alternatives.

Virtual, Mixed & Augmented Reality - Prof. Max Louwerse

Location: DAF Technology Lab, Tilburg University Campus

During this masterclass, Professor Max Louwerse will update you on the most recent, innovative applications of virtual, mixed and augmented reality. In addition to this, you will get an introduction into measuring behavior in virtual reality environments. Of course, you can best understand the possibilities of virtual reality by trying it out yourself. Therefore, you will experience first-hand how close it is to the real world by visiting the DAF Technology Lab on campus and even by building simulations yourself!

Practical information Alumni Masterclass Series

Locations

The Masterclass Series for Alumni will be hosted at inspiring locations throughout the Netherlands, in Tilburg, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven and Utrecht.

Time schedule

Masterclasses for alumni will typically start at 9.30 hrs. and end by 16.30 hrs. with a networking drink. In case of a different time schedule, this will be clearly communicated.

Costs

One masterclass costs € 175. The fee includes all course materials and lunch.

Your profile

The masterclasses are open to all alumni of Tilburg University. You are welcome to share this brochure with a colleague and invite them to register for the masterclasses you will attend.

Teaching methods

The masterclasses offer a combination of keynotes, lectures, workshops and discussions led by experts in the field. All sessions are characterized by a mix of theoretical and practical aspects of the subjects discussed.

General terms and conditions

Registration

You can register for this course only by filling out the online registration form on the website. You will immediately receive a digital confirmation. Your registration is complete if you have been admitted and have paid the course fee.

Course fee

The course fee is payable within 14 days after receipt of the invoice. No VAT is charged for this course.

Changes

Tilburg University reserves the right to change parts of the course in the event of unforeseen circumstances or recent developments. You will be informed of any changes as soon as possible.

Cancellation

Cancellation by a course participant needs to take place in writing. If you cancel in writing not later than four weeks before the first course day, the course fee will be refunded. Tilburg University reserves the right to cancel the course if an insufficient number of participants have registered.

Evaluation

After every course day, the course participants will be given an evaluation form. It is very important for the further development of the post-academic courses to receive the course participants’ feedback through these evaluation forms. The information obtained will be used as much as possible in organizing and designing future courses.

Complaints

The course participant can report any complaints to Tilburg University in writing. The complaint needs to be described in detail. Complaints do not suspend the obligation to pay the course fee. If the complaint is upheld by Tilburg University, the course participant will receive a reduction of the course fee.
