Tilburg University Summer School

If you want to deepen your knowledge in a particular domain, or get to know an academic discipline that is different from your own, you can follow a thematic course in the field of Economics, Law, Data Management, Theology and Psychology.

During the social program you have the opportunity to explore the Netherlands and to meet people from all around the world. Develop your intercultural skills and start to create an international network during this amazing and unforgettable summer experience. The social program consists of basic activities and optional activities. Some examples are:

• A karaoke night
• Exploring Tilburg by boat
• An open-air movie night
• Sharing food and culture in an international potluck
• A city trip to Amsterdam

Costs

Some activities are free for all TUSS participants and included in the basic social program fee. These activities range from theme parties to international dinners. Other activities are optional and require a small additional fee to cover their costs. You can sign up for these activities when you register for your summer course.

Please note that Tilburg University Summer School reserves the right to cancel or change its social activities at any time, in case of insufficient applications or other reasons. In case this concerns an activity of the additional program, your fee will be refunded.

When you have decided to participate in Tilburg University Summer School, there are some matters you have to take care of before arrival. 

Accommodation

During your stay you can be accommodated near the beautiful green campus of Tilburg University. There will be plenty of rooms available for all incoming students. You can book a room upon arrival with our recommended housing company in Tilburg. There is no need to make a reservation beforehand.  Note that this will only entail accommodation for your stay during the summer school period.

Immigration matters

Dutch immigration regulations are dependent on your answers to the following questions: What is the length and purpose of your stay? What is your nationality? Do you already have a Residence Permit for a Schengen country? Please read the information regarding the immigration procedure which may be applicable during your time at Tilburg University Summer School.

Concerning Visas: it is your own responsibility to check whether you need a visa. If so, you will need to arrange it yourself before your start at Tilburg University Summer School.

Insurances

It is important to have good insurance while abroad. Medical costs can be high in the Netherlands, especially if you require specialized care at a hospital. Dutch law also requires you to have adequate health and third party liability insurance. We also strongly recommend you take out additional travel insurance, as chances are high that you will want to explore Europe a little more during your stay here. Organizing insurance is your own responsibility.

Emergency preparations and contact

The staff of the International Office is here to support you in your experience abroad and is available to talk with you if you have any questions or concerns. We are available to assist you should an emergency situation ever arise.
