Essays on Corporate Finance and Corporate Taxation

This dissertation contains three chapters, all related to corporate finance and corporate taxation. The first chapter studies how room for interpretation in tax law affects tax planning. The second chapter studies the effects of taxation are influenced by differences in the corporate group structures of multinationals. The third chapter investigates the effects of tax planning opportunities on employment and labor costs.

Peter Brok (Roermond, The Netherlands, 1988) received his Bachelor degree in Fiscale Economie at Tilburg University in 2009. He obtained his Master degree in Fiscale Economie in 2010 and his Master degree in Finance in 2013, both at Tilburg University. In between both masters he worked in tax consultancy and started in 2013 as a Research master student at TiSEM, Tilburg University. In 2015 he joined the PhD program and visited the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. In 2019 he joined the Copenhagen Business School as an Assistant Professor in Finance.
