Bio

Janneke Oostrom is hoogleraar Arbeids- en Organisatiepsychologie en voorzitter van het departement Sociale Psychologie bij de Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Na haar Master in Arbeids- en Organisatiepsychologie te hebben behaald in 2015 aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (EUR) is zij haar carrière begonnen als testontwikkelaar bij Van der Maesen & Koch HRM-advies. Na 2 jaar is zij teruggekeerd naar de EUR om haar PhD te behalen en haar carrière voort te zetten als Universitair Docent. Tussen 2012 en 2018 was zij Universitair Docent bij de Vrije Universiteit (VU) in Amsterdam, eerst bij de afdeling Sociale & Organisatiepsychologie en later bij de afdeling Management & Organisatie. Tussen 2019 en 2023 was zij Universitair Hoofddocent bij de afdeling Management & Organisatie, waar ze tevens adjunct-hoofd was van de sectie HRM en Organisatiegedrag en de opleidingsdirecteur van de MBA in International Business.

Expertise

Het onderzoek van Janneke Oostrom is gericht op de werving en de selectie van personeel. Binnen dit onderzoeksgebied, richt ze zich op onderwerpen als situationele beoordelingstests, impressiemanagement en diversiteit en inclusie.

Haar onderzoek is gepubliceerd in toonaangevende tijdschriften, waaronder Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Research in Personality en Journal of Experimental Social Psychology

Ze is een van de redacteurs van het tijdschrift International Journal of Selection and Assessment en ze zit in de redactieraad van de tijdschriften Journal of Business and PsychologyHuman Performance, Journal of Personnel Psychology en Personnel Assessment and Decisions.

Samenwerken

Tussen 2016 en 2022 representeerde Janneke Oostrom de VU in de Commissie Testaangelegenheden Nederland (COTAN), die de kwaliteit van psychologische tests en testgebruik in Nederland bevordert. In 2015 is zij bestuurslid geworden van Stichting NOA. Het doel van deze stichting is om de arbeidskansen van mensen met een migratieachtergrond in Nederland te verbeteren. Sinds 2022 is ze tevens lid van AONs wetenschappelijke adviesraad over assessments.
