Bio

Marcel is directeur van Centerdata sinds september 2000. Hij studeerde (cum laude) af in de Econometrie / Statistiek aan Tilburg University en is aansluitend gepromoveerd aan dezelfde universiteit.

Na zijn promotie werkte hij als onderzoeker en later als senior onderzoeker bij CentER Applied Research – een instituut voor toegepast economisch onderzoek gelieerd aan Tilburg University.

Marcel heeft een groot aantal nationale en internationale onderzoeksprojecten geleid en publiceerde wetenschappelijke artikelen in internationale tijdschriften op het gebied van statistische en empirische analyses van survey data en methodologische vraagstukken in web-based surveys. Sinds februari 2009 is hij tevens hoogleraar Econometrie en Dataverzameling bij het Departement Econometrie en Operations Research van de Tilburg School of Economics and Management. Momenteel is hij lid van verschillende (inter)nationale wetenschappelijke adviesraden van omvangrijke data-infrastructuren.
