PhD research title - Climate change adaptation to water scarcity as boundary struggles: Case studies from rural parts of eastern India
My doctoral study, under the EDOLAD (European Joint Doctorate in Law and Development) program, explores the role of law in enabling subaltern communities across intersectional relations of gender and other local contexts, to sustainably adapt to water scarcity and droughts under climate change. I employ a grounded theory methodology that centers the subaltern perspective for answering the research question. To this end, I relied upon qualitative and participatory research methods to do fieldwork in rural parts of eastern India from December 2021 to May 2022.
My educational background includes a Master's in Development Studies and a Bachelor's in Law, both earned in India. Prior to embarking on my Ph.D. journey, I worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in an international development organization.
