Bio

I am an associate professor of Business Communication & Digital Media. I am the track coordinator of our Business Communication and Digital Media track, I lead our research group on online social influence (CSI). I developed and initiated the New Media Design track within the Communication and Information Sciences department. I am also the president of the Netherlands-Flanders Communication Association (NeFCA).

Expertise

My research and teaching interests include social media use, online collaboration, and online impression management. My current research focuses on social media influencers and their effects on people's health & well-being, impression management and formation in online dating, online social collaboration and dehumanization and online anonymity. 

Onderwijs

I teach courses on online communication technology and digital media, such as Social Media at Work, Business Information Technology, and Social Media Analytics. I have supervised more than a 150 bachelor and master theses and 5 PhD's.
