Universitair docent

Tilburg Law School
Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT)

Dr. Leonie Reins is Assistant Professor at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT), Tilburg Law School (the Netherlands).

Her main area of expertise is International and European Energy and Environmental law. Within this field, she focuses on the regulation of new technologies and developments such as CCS, nanotechnology, shale gas and the emergence of energy prosumers. Regulatory approaches towards risk and risk management also play an important role in her work. Leonie's work further addresses the way in which regulators balance environmental protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation with other objectives, such as energy supply security, and energy efficiency, through, for example, environmental labelling.
