Expertise

Fons Maes (PhD 1991) is gewoon hoogleraar en hoofd van het departement Communicatie en Cognitie, Tilburg School of Humanities van de Universiteit van Tilburg. Hij bestudeert de interactie van visuele en verbale tekensystemen in menselijke communicatie. Onderwerpen betreffen onder meer de productie van referentiële uitdrukkingen, verbale en visuele metaforen, navigatiecommunicatie, het visualiseren van informatie, en het gebruik van visuele communicatie in gezondheidsvoorlichting en reclame.
