Sinds 2022 is Phillip Principal Investigator in 'TransLitigate: The Agency of Transnational Strategic Litigators in Global Environmental Governance' (ERC STG 2021). Hij onderzoekt de samenwerkingsnetwerken van advocaten gericht op klimaatverandering, natuurbescherming, vervuiling door winningsindustrieën, en landconflicten. Dit project maakt deel uit van de onderzoeksgemeenschaap over Constitutionalizing in the Anthropocene.
