Tilburg University Ethics Review Boards
Tilburg University believes it is important that all research carried out within the university complies with the Dutch Code of Conduct for Scientific Integrity.
This means, among other things, that research involving human participants is submitted to an ethics committee (when necessary), that researchers carefully manage their data, and that legislation to protect the privacy of participants (GDPR) is complied with.
The committees within Tilburg University are organised per School. The application form and procedure can be found on the School pages. Tilburg University has opted for an integrated approach to Ethics, Data Management and the GDPR. The committees use a digital application form to assess these aspects. Each School has its own policy to decide in which cases whether ethical review is required. The committees do not assess research projects to which the Medical-Scientific Research with People Act (Wet Medisch Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek met mensen - WMO) applies.
