Program structure PhD in Business

During the first year, you will follow a rigorous course program, write an extensive research proposal for your doctoral research project, attend the weekly research seminars of your department and present your work at least once to your supervisors and other colleagues.

After the first year, a formal evaluation will take place based on your performance and progress in the program. In case of a positive decision, you will continue your doctoral research project in years 2, 3 and 4, resulting in a dissertation typically consisting of three papers suitable for publication in leading academic journals in your field of specialization. You will also engage in some teaching and supervising of students in our undergraduate and master’s programs.

The fourth, and in some cases fifth year, are typically used to prepare for the academic job market and formally defend your dissertation research in front of a committee of professors.
