In a varied online program , Rector Magnificus Wim van de Donk will open the event together with other academic guests, including Saskia Lavrijssen (Professor of Energy Systems) and Irmgard Borghouts (Professor of Labor Market) and professonials, including Ellen Kroese (Director VNO-NCW Brabant Zeeland) and Hans Mommaas (Director PBL), led by Jorn Matena (&Maes). In several table discussions, we will dwell on the question of what is needed to strengthen the broad prosperity of regions. How can players in the region - governments, civil society organizations, businesses and citizens - work on the development of broad prosperity? If you are active in the region and strive for a more socially resilient and sustainable economy, don't miss this online meeting!

While GDP figures may tell us something about growth and the economy, they say nothing about how we are really doing. Growth does not yet mean prosperity. Hence, the call for broad prosperity is growing louder. Broad prosperity" is not just about economic growth, but also about the well-being and wellbeing of people and the quality of nature and the environment. In the pursuit of broad prosperity, regions play an important role. For many people, the region forms the measure of daily existence. But the region is also the level of scale at which the major challenges of our time converge and must be tackled: the transition to a circular economy, the transition to renewable energy and an inclusive labor market. The meeting will not only address these issues, but also questions such as how to steer regional growth towards broad prosperity. What policy is needed to achieve this? How do you use the characteristics and strengths of the region? And what does it require from citizens, businesses, and local and regional authorities?
