Study Group Relationship Judaism Christianity

The interdisciplinary Werkgroep Relatie Jodendom Christendom (Study Group Relationship Judaism Christianity) researches the meaning of the relationship between Judaism and Christianity in past and present.

Focus

This relationship touches upon theology in its entirety and therefore has an interdisciplinary character. Attention is paid to the birth of Christianity in its Jewish setting and to the history of the relationship between Judaism and Christianity as well as its separation. The Werkgroep Relatie Jodendom Christendom also studies the current relations between Judaism and Christianity and its meaning for the Catholic practise of theology.

International cooperation

The Werkgroep Relatie Jodendom Christendom is part of an international partnership of the following institutes:

  • Bar-Ilan University, Israël
  • Schechter Institutes, Jerusalem (connected to the Israeli department of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York)
  • Protestant Theological University (PThU), Amsterdam
