Abstract

My research focuses on internal and external communication, social identification processes and the sustainability behaviours of multiple stakeholders in organizations. More specifically, I investigate the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication via social media in the behaviours of employees and consumers. In addition, I study determinants and consequences of employees' online boundary management behaviours in organizational contexts. The presentation will focus on my recent projects on both online boundary management of employees and consumer responses to CSR initiatives of companies and brands.

About Jos Bartels

Jos Bartels (PhD), is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Information Sciences at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. He received his PhD in 2006 at the Department of Marketing Communication and Consumer Psychology, University of Twente.

His thesis is entitled: Organizational Identification and Communication: Employees' evaluations of internal communication and its effect on identification at different organizational levels. Since then, he worked in several positions as Lecturer, Policy Advisor, Senior Researcher and Assistant Professor at different Dutch universities and institutes (University of Twente, Enschede, Wageningen University and Research Centre, The Hague, University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam).
