About Tilburg Institute of Governance
Tilburg Institute of Governance (TIG) is an innovative and multidisciplinary community of scholars interested in public governance and public sector issues.
TIG started in 2016 as an alliance of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) and Tilburg Law School (TLS). TIG operates at the interface of the disciplines of Public Administration, Economics and Law. Each discipline offers different insights and tools to deepen our understanding of public governance issues. TIG closely collaborates with the practice of governance (e.g., cities such as Tilburg, Province of Noord-Brabant and other regional authorities, national ministries and agencies, European bodies).
Our mission is to contribute to the knowledge and practice of governance that is needed to address complex challenges in the public realm. As a network broker our expertise lies in connecting state-of-the-art insights and novel ideas on public values, law, economics, politics and organization.

TiREG, Tilburg Center for Regional Law and Governance, is a joint venture of the Departments of Public Law and Politics & Public Administration and is supported by the Province of Noord-Brabant. Besides legal and public administration scholars, the Center brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines and institutes (also beyond Tilburg University) to conduct research and develop education in the field of regional law and governance.
Behavioural Public Administration Network (BPAN)

This is a network of academics and institutions that examine questions of public management from a behavioural perspective and implement experimental research designs. Primary contact persons for this cooperation is Florian Heine.
Work at Tilburg Institute of Governance
Working at TIG means being part of a small-scale international community of ambitious scholars. Experts on governance with a wide variety of academic backgrounds. TIG is a community that works close with alumni and students. We even share a workspace with student association Juribes. People working at TIG (or “TiGERS” as we call ourselves affectionately) are very involved with the institute. Working together, always in search of new projects to combine their expertise. And, of course, there’s time for fun as well. For example: joint lunches, a book club, a culture club and a fun yearly day-out, full of fun and games.
