Bio

I am associate professor in the Department of Culture Studies and at the Tilburg Center of the Learning Sciences (TiCeLS). I have a background in pedagogical sciences and language studies (Turkology).

My research as well as my teaching is situated in the areas of learning and education, with a focus on the role of language and diversity. The first field of my work is on language learning, bilingualism, second language learning and the development of academic language. The second field of research is on teacher education, teacher development and practitioners’ research.

My teaching is connected to the bachelor and master programs of Culture Studies, the teacher education ULT, Academische Pabo Tilburg (APS) and the professionalization part of TiCeLS.
