Caia is lecturer and researcher with the Section Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Department of Public Law and Governance on a part-time basis. She teaches different courses relating to fundamental rights, constitutional law and migration. Her research concerns the issue of statelessness. More specifically, she studies European legal instruments that could contribute to preventing and solving statelessness in light of the changing conceptions of nationality and citizenship, and the (international) right to a nationality. Caia is also employed as Research and Education Officer by the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion.
Caia studied at Tilburg University, where she obtained the LLM International and European Public Law and the LLM Research Master in Law cum laude.
Caia teaches various courses on fundamental rights, constitutional law and migration.
Caia is interested in legal questions relating to citizenship and statelessness and has previously worked with a number of other researchers, practitioners and NGOs on research on statelessness.
