I am a mathematician who is passionate about contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals and to solving complex societal challenges. I apply my expertise in operations research and mathematical optimization to solve problems arising in these areas. Currently, I work on algorithmic energy management solutions for the energy transition and on data-driven decision-support tools for pandemic preparedness.
I obtained my PhD degree from the University of Twente in 2021 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology. Since January 2023, I am an assistant professor in operations research at Tilburg University.
My expertise lies in optimization and data-driven decision-making. On the more theoretical side, I study fairness in allocation problems, convex optimization over combinatorial structures, and online learning-augmented algorithms. On the more applied side, I also work and collaborate in interdisciplinary projects in energy systems, epidemiology, and evidence-based policymaking.
