Martin Smits is Associate Professor of Information Systems and Management at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM) of Tilburg University. He is member of CentER (the Center for Research in Economics and Business) and member of Tranzo (the Center for Research in Care and Wellbeing, at the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (TSB)).
His research focuses on the impact of IT on performance of business processes in organizations and business networks. Topics include business process analysis, IT strategy, and supply chain integration. He is particularly interested in electronic markets, the development of intermediaries and market performance. He develops and analyzes process models, system dynamics models, and business models, in particular to analyze and predict the impact of technology innovations in health care (E-Health), government (E-Government), and financial services (Fintech).
