Paolo Santori

Bio

Hello, I am Paolo Santori, a philosopher working at the crossroads between Economic Thought and Theology. My academic background includes bachelor's and master's degrees in Philosophy at Tor Vergata University (Rome), a Ph.D. in Sciences of Civil Economy at Lumsa University (Rome), a research grant from Centro Universitario Cattolico (Rome). I was visiting student at the University of Kent and visiting scholar at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Currently, I am a Teacher in the Department of Philosophy at Tilburg University. 

I follow two main research patterns. On the one hand, I am interested in the philosophical and theological roots of modern schools of economic thought (Civil Economy, Political Economy). On the other hand, I am doing research in Economics and Philosophy on topics such as political liberalism, markets and meritocracy, the moral limits and justification of the market, ethics of care.

Collaboration

I am a member of the Economy of Francesco, an international movement of more than 2000 economists and entrepreneurs. There, I coordinate the online webinar series "Economy of Francesco School".  

I collaborate with the Italian social enterprise Scuola di Economia Civile (School of Civil Economy) and, sporadically, I write articles for the Italian newspaper "Avvenire". 

I am part of the Happiness Economics and Interpersonal Relations (HEIRS) organization that every year organizes a conference/seminar/workshop on topics related to Economics, Philosophy and Theology.
