Paolo Santori

Bio

Hi, 

I am Paolo Santori, a philosopher at the crossroads between economics and theology. My research interests lie in the history of medieval and modern philosophy, the history of economic thought, the philosophy of economics, and business ethics. Currently, I am studying the philosophical and theological roots of the so-called three economic Enlightenments, i.e., the economic ideas of Adam Smith (Scottish Enlightenment), Immanuel Kant (German Enlightenment), and Antonio Genovesi (Italian Enlightenment). In parallel, I am researching meritocracy, markets, and care ethics.

Collaboration

I am a member of the Economy of Francesco, an international movement of more than 2,000 economists and entrepreneurs. I am the scientific coordinator of the EoF Academy, a group of international academics working for a new economy focusing on including the least advantaged.

I collaborate with the Italian social enterprise Scuola di Economia Civile (School of Civil Economy), and sporadically, I write articles for the Italian newspaper "Avvenire." 

I am part of the Happiness Economics and Interpersonal Relations (HEIRS) organization that annually organizes a conference/seminar/workshop on Economics and Philosophy.
