Workshop Job-seeking skills: the Interview
Super! You applied for a vacancy and you have been invited to attend a job interview. How should you prepare to present yourself in the best possible light? How should you answer difficult questions? You will learn this during this meeting. You will practice a behavior-oriented interview, which many employers in the Netherlands use in their application procedures.
What will you learn?
After this meeting:
- You will know how to prepare for an interview.
- You will know how you to present yourself.
- You will be able to describe your strong points.
- You will be able to present a weaker points.
- You will know how to apply the STAR(R) method.
Preparation
Do you want to have an appointment? That's possible. Please schedule an appointment with the Career Services Officer from your school via the Career Portal. E-mail no less than one week in advance your application letter, CV and a vacancy text (or an open application: information about the company) to studentcareerservices@tilburguniversity.edu.
Would you like advice on your application letter and CV? Come along to the weekly consultation hour for job applicants on Mondays and Thursdays from 13.00 to 14.00.
If you have an appointment, it is important that you already know what your own strengths and weaknesses are. Would you find it difficult to describe these? Register for the 'Talent management' course first.
