What's a Student Crew at Tilburg University?

Within the Student Crew, we work with three categories of students, performing slightly different tasks and having different levels of responsibilities:

  • Helping all year round:

    • (Inter)national Student Recruiter, with an extensive training and a high level of responsibility and expertise (on payroll).
    • Bachelor Crew member:  helping during major recruitment activities, such as Open Days, or medium-scale (on-campus, hybrid and virtual) events (off-payroll), being reimbursed in the form of digital vouchers, based on the number of worked hours per semester.
  • Helping twice a year:

    • Master Open Days Crew members: supporting team Events in Fall and in Spring during the Open days.

Student Recruiters are the 'ambassadors' of the university during various types of information-, promotion- and recruitment activities (such as the Open Days, presentations at high schools, interactive webinars or international study fairs) that are aimed at informing and enthusing prospective students.

Student Recruiters are expected to work more hours and must complete a series of in-depth trainings, in order to perform tasks with a higher level of responsibility and a higher degree of competence throughout the whole year. Bachelor Crew members are usually engaged during the major (on-campus) activities a few times per year.

Student Recruiters and Bachelor Crew members work side by side during events on- and off campus, forming a diverse and inclusive Community. Students (falling under all three categories) are expected  be authentic storytellers with a focus on own student experiences providing support to their peers in a friendly and professional manner.

(Inter)national Student Recruiter

(Inter)national Student Recruiters' community consists of a diverse group of about 30 enthusiastic students from different academic programs at Tilburg University. They provide support and share information, experiences and personal insights about studying at Tilburg University with the high school students (and their parents).

Offering peer-to-peer guidance and sharing authentic experiences about own study program and student life in Tilburg, is the essence of this function. (Inter)national Student Recruiters work at information fairs and during (hybrid) Open Days; offer campus tours and support during online trial lectures. (Inter)national Student Recruiters work with academic staff and other members of the School at a variety of on-campus events and may be asked to represent the University at events off campus, where necessary.

If you are passionate about your studies, have strong social skills and an international mindset, this part-time job is the right fit for you!
