Vulnerabilities in software: please update your devices

At this moment, vulnerabilities in commonly used software are actively being exploited by hackers. Therefore, Tilburg University's security teams are strongly appealing to you: keep your own devices and those of Tilburg University as secure as possible by updating some software as soon as possible.

Recently, two severe vulnerabilities in commonly used software have been discovered. Hackers are currently actively exploiting this. Fortunately, there is no indication yet that this is happening within Tilburg University. The vulnerabilities are present in:

  • Webbrowsers Chrome, Edge en FireFox
  • All of Apple-systems
  • E-mail software Thunderbird
  • Several Linux-distributions

Wat is expected from you?

The vulnerabilities can be mitigated by installing the latest version of the software mentioned above followed by restarting your device. Make sure you do this on all your devices.
