The social security in the EU

During the 41st European meeting (Lisbon, 23-24 April 2015) of the European Institute for the Social Protection IPSE Jan Cremers (UvT) contributed with a lecture on the social security rights in Europe. He provided a short historical overview of the regulatory frame for the free movement and mobility of workers, of the developed coordination of the social security systems and of the application of these rules on the posting of workers. Based on several studies he concluded that the posting of workers has degenerated in some sectors into an instrument for the recruitment of cheap labour.

The lecture is now published online (in French, page 33-36).
