Presenting our Scientific Strengths: new opportunities to connect

The Schools of Tilburg University have identified their Scientific Strengths in order to stimulate dialogue, collaboration and exchange across the boundaries of the different Schools. A booklet with an overview of the Scientific Strengths was presented at the PhD Day on March 29th and will be distributed within the Schools in the coming weeks.

With the Scientific Strengths Tilburg University’s unique academic profile can be further enhanced and the impact of our research strengthened. The booklet highlights each of the strengths and includes sub-strengths, keywords, and contact persons. In order to accelerate the process of identifying overlap, commonalities, and fruitful areas for cooperation, 12 overarching strengths have been distinguished.

The Vice-Deans for Research hope that the presentation of the Scientific Strengths will serve as a starting point for a dialogue as well as concrete collaboration. They expect that joining forces in research projects and grant applications will lead to an exchange of knowledge and expertise that will stimulate new, innovative insights.

In the fall of 2018 there will be a meeting to evaluate the first results of the booklet and exchange best practices, examples, obstacles and dilemma’s. The aim is to publish a new overview in 2020.
