New smoking policy

A new smoking policy will be introduced on campus. The smoking areas and ashtrays will be relocated further away from entrances to buildings.

The new smoking policy was adopted by the University Council on October 1. The reason for the new policy is to prevent the increasing smoke nuisance near entrances to buildings.

In anticipation of this new policy, ashtrays are being relocated and tiles with no smoking signs are being installed outside buildings. Red lines will be painted around the entrances to buildings to indicate where the smoking ban applies. In other places, further away from entrances, new ashtray tiles and smoking areas have been installed. In the picture, the new smoking areas are indicated with red dots.

Please check the campus map with smoking areas.
