What requirements does my computer or laptop have to meet?
Many lectures are given online and assignments are made at home. That's why it's important that you have the right facilities yourself. A good laptop or desktop PC is indispensable.
We recommend a modern laptop with the following specifications:
- A Windows PC or notebook. Not a Chromebook or Mac because a lot of software doesn't work on these computers. Our IT services are mainly based on Microsoft technology, so for that reason we recommend a laptop with Windows 10.
- For the use of statistical software, we recommend that you consider the following minimum requirements:
- i5 processor (or equivalent), preferably i7 (or equivalent).
- 8GB of working memory.
- 128 GB ssd.
- Webcam (built-in or separate).
Data Science
Students of the Joint Bachelor Data Science make use of the Notebook provision by Eindhoven University of Technology. They will be informed about this by e-mail.
