A program of study or internship abroad offers many benefits. Many students who have spent time studying or working abroad even say it was the time of their lives. Your language skills will improve, you will become acquainted with other cultures, you will make friends from many countries and you will get a valuable dose of life experience. Spending time abroad is also an impressive addition to your resume. Employers see definite advantages in hiring graduates with international experience.

Application deadlines

Students wanting to go on exchange in the academic year 2022/2023 should submit their application at one of the following deadlines:

Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 hrs 

Open for all applications for exchanges in the academic year 2022/23, applications for a Fall 2022 ISEP program exchange must be submitted at this deadline. 

Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11:00 hrs 

Open for all applications for exchanges in the academic year 2022/23.

Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:00 hrs 

Open for all applications for exchanges in the academic year 2022/23.

This is the final deadline to apply for an exchange in the Fall 2022 semester. 

Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 hrs 

Open for applications for exchanges in Spring 2023.

Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 hrs 

Open for applications for exchanges in Spring 2023.

We are not yet accepting applications beyond 2022/23.

Here you can find lots of useful information such as recordings of information fairs and presentations and tips on different topics such as studying abroad with a disability and travelling sustainably during your exchange period. 

Please note that you have to 'enrol' yourself in the Canvas 'course' in order to access the information. 

COVID-19 and exchanges

Exchanges in the academic year 2021-2022 are possible in line with the development of the pandemic as well as national, Tilburg University and partner university guidelines.  Students selected for a 2022-2023 exchange will be informed of the applicable regulations ahead of their exchange.

Brexit and exchanges to the United Kingdom

The UK has left the EU on 1 January 2021 and is no longer participating in the Erasmus+ program. Students going on exchange to the UK in the academic year 2021-2022 can still receive an Erasmus+ grant, as there is still funding available in Tilburg University's previously granted Erasmus+ project. Students selected for a 2022-2023 exchange to the UK can go on exchange based on extended agreements with Tilburg University's UK partners. Easmus+ grants are no longer available for these students and other scholarship options are being assessed.
