Students wanting to go on exchange in the academic year 2022/23 should submit their application at one of the following deadlines:
|Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 hrs||Open for all applications for exchanges in the academic year 2022/23, applications for a Fall 2022 ISEP program exchange must be submitted at this deadline.|
|Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11:00 hrs|
|Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:00 hrs||This is the final deadline to apply for an exchange in the Fall 2022 semester.|
|Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 hrs|
|Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 hrs|
Your application needs to be submitted in Mobility Online by 11:00 o'clock in the morning on the deadline date. Late applications will NOT be considered with the exception of our September-deadline, after which we can still accept applications on a rolling basis for remaining exchange spots until October 1.
Selecting your destinations
An exchange application can contain up to 3 destinations in your order of preference. The more destinations you offer in your application, the higher the likelihood that you will be selected for an exchange. Of course, they need to fit your academic and personal requirements.
The Mobility Online Search Portal shows all available destinations. Please make sure you select the correct academic year, semester, and study program while on exchange and click on 'Show Details' to give you the correct overview of partner universities available for you. (Look only at the list of the results, not the map on the right, as the map does not always give an accurate overview).
For students wanting to apply for an exchange at the first deadline of the academic year (November), our Search Portal will be ready with the updated information about available destinations by October 5th. If you want to submit an application for an exchange at one of the later deadlines (after November), please wait at least 6 weeks after the previous deadline has passed before submitting a new application. This gives us time to finish processing all applications. If you submit a new application before the 6 week period has passed, you risk applying for a destination that is not actually available and you therefore waste an application opportunity.
The student experience reports can give you additional insight in the exchange destinations. For extra tips, advice, and testimonials from previous exchange students, please enroll in our Canvas 'module'.

The 2021 edition of the Study Abroad Fair took place online on Tuesday, 5th October 2021. This event was aimed at students who want to go on exchange in the 2022-23 academic year.
The fair was recorded so that you can re-visit the information. The recordings are posted on our Canvas page. You can also find the recordings from the 2020 fair on Canvas.

Please attend one of the general Online Study Abroad Information Sessions (or watch the recording on our Canvas page) before scheduling an individual appointment to get the best possible information and prepare a successful application.
All appointments are currently arranged as phone calls or video conferences. Please include the destinations you are interested in and how you prefer to be reached, so that the responsible coordinator(s) can arrange the appointment with you accordingly.
Tilburg University students who are interested in going on exchange are invited to explore our Canvas page for outgoing exchange students. Here you can find more resources and tips on different topics relating to exchange, such as studying abroad with a disability, testimonials, and travelling sustainably during your exchange period.
PLEASE NOTE that you have to 'enrol' in the Canvas 'course' in order to access the information.
Impact of COVID-19 on exchanges
Exchanges in the academic year 2021-2022 will be possible in line with the development of the pandemic as well as national, Tilburg University and partner university guidelines. Tilburg University strives to inform incoming and outgoing exchange students with a Fall 2021 exchange by May 2021 about the exchange policy.
Please find more information on corona and exchanges in the corona FAQ of Tilburg University.
Impact of Brexit on exchanges
We understand that outgoing students considering an exchange in the United Kingdom may have questions about the impact of Brexit on their exchange plans, as the U.K. decided to no longer participate in Erasmus exchanges. This decision does not necessarily have any consequences for students going abroad to the U.K. in the academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22, as there is still funding available in Tilburg University's current Erasmus project.
Please check Surfdrive for the latest information. We will update this file as and when more information becomes available.
Study abroad without barriers
Going on an exchange is a valuable life experience that should be accessible for every student, no matter what their background or circumstances are. We want to reduce the barriers that some students may face when wanting to go on exchange by making clear what help and support is available.
More information about support available for going on exchange as a disabled student is available on our Canvas page for outgoing exchange students. Please note that you have to 'enroll' in the page in order to access the information.
For questions about what support is available for students with special circumstances within the Erasmus+ program, please contact email@example.com.
