FAQ on online proctoring for students
Tilburg University has decided to use online proctoring for a limited group of examinations. We want to inform you as clearly as possible about the measures and developments on online proctoring. Check out general information and frequently asked questions below.
About online proctoring
Online proctoring is a way to remotely monitor the student's behavior and detect irregularities during the course of an exam. The purpose of online proctoring is therefore the same as the purpose of surveillance of an exam that is taken on campus: to detect irregularities and fraud. This guarantees the value of the diploma.
The university policy is that online proctoring can only be used if no alternatives are available that guarantee the value of the diploma. Furthermore, online proctoring will only be used for key courses—recognized as such by the Program Director—with knowledge-oriented exams crucial for, or close to, the moment of graduation.
