Why study at Universidad del Pacífico?

Universidad del Pacífico (UP) is a private university established in 1962 by a group of Peruvian entrepreneurs supported by the Jesuit community. Universidad del Pacífico is located in the beautiful and ancient capital of Peru, Lima. Today is has become a university specialized in the areas of economics and business administration. In the past three decades, UP has been ranked as the most prestigious higher education institution in its fields of specialization in Peru, and among the leading institutions of its kind in the Latin American region.

At the undergraduate level UP offers Bachelor's degrees in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Business Engineering and Law. At the graduate level, it offers a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Finance. At the moment it has approximately 2,600 students enrolled at the undergraduate level, and 400 students enrolled in graduate programs.

Academic calendar

  • Fall semester: end of March - mid-July 
  • Spring semester: mid-August - December

The academic calendar in Peru runs differently from the Dutch academic calendar. Their first semester is our spring semester. Their second semester is our fall semester.

Language course

Spanish language courses are offered during the semester at Universidad del Pacífico.


Cost of living: € 500 / € 600 per month

  • Miscellaneous: € 20


Universidad del Pacífico does not offer on-campus accommodation. However, the International Office does provide information and assistance to exchange students on how to accommodate at a Student’s house (privately run dorms), live in a Family Home or rent a flat (apartment) in the city. The International Office has a list of recommended contacts in all these options.


Students need an official visa in order to be able to study in Peru. However, the international office of Universidad del Pacifico takes care of arranging the visas for all incoming exchange students.
