Pregnancy and studying with children

Falling pregnant does not have to signal the end of your studies. It will mean, however, arranging decent accommodation and good child care and creating enough time to be able to attend lectures and complete your assignments. We recommend contacting your academic advisor as soon as possible to plan your study program and progress.

Contact your education coordinator to discuss you study plan and schedule.

If you need examination facilities, you can apply for them online.

Contact the Dean of Students for all other consequences of your pregnancy, such as:

  • Possible study delay
  • Depending on how your pregnancy progresses, when you are due, and the stage you are at in your studies, you may be allowed to interrupt your studies temporarily or register later in the academic year.
  • If you are breastfeeding, the university provides facilities for expressing and storing breast milk, see lactation rooms.
  • The university provides limited financial arrangements for students on a student government grant.
