Bio

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Psychology at Tilburg University.

My research focuses on three topics:

  • Altruism & Morality: How can we motivate people to do good? Why do we care about the suffering of some individuals, but not others?
  • First impressions & Social biases: How accurate are our first impressions? How do they influence our behavior?
  • Meta-science & Methodology: How can we improve research practices in the behavioral sciences?

I use a variety of methods to study these questions, including lab experiments, meta-analysis, multi-country surveys, and data scraping. More information on my research can be found here.
